Data Extraction Tools

- Southern Nonnative Invasive Plant data Extraction Tool (SNIPET). This tool will allow users to create custom subplot lists for the invasive plant data currently available.
- Southern On Line Estimator (SOLE) application. The Southern On-Line Estimator (SOLE) is a web-based forest-data analysis tool. This online analysis tool is based on publicly-available county level annual data from the Forest Inventory and Analysis Database (FIADB). SOLE produces statistical tables, figures, maps, and PDF reports based on user-selected area and variables

SRS FIA Plot Tracking-this link leads to a table entitled “State Coordinators and Field Crew Information” with links to individual Plot Reports per panel per State. The reports break down the numbers of plots collected, numbers of plots left to collect and also include associated plot lists. These reports are updated each Monday, beginning in December 2001. If you do not see the information you need, contact us.

SRS FIA Dataset Tracking-(password protected area) this link leads to another set of links to reports for each State that include the following information:
- Collection per panel. (NOTE: Collection rates per panel may be misleading if more than one panel is being collected at a time. )
- Collection per cycle. (Overall collection rates are more accurate)
- Editing report
- Dataset tracking.

As a new panel is completed, it is combined with other panels to form a dataset. Each dataset is compiled, reviewed internally by FIA, further reviewed by the State and then posted to the public web through the FIA Mapmaker application where it is available to the public. These reports are updated each Monday, beginning in August 2005.

SRS FIA Data Delivery- this link leads to the data delivery report and timeline. The report summarizes where each state is at in its particular stage of data delivery. The timeline outlines how each stage within the report is defined.

*Special Studies in west/central OK and TX:
There were special studies in 17 counties in the "post oak region" of central TX published in 1965 and 1975.
There were special studies of one county in central TX in 1986 and 1992.
There was one special study in west OK in 1989.
The first inventory of west TX is coded cycle 51 to differentiate from east TX.

**Puerto Rico is nominally called a "periodic" inventory. The data was collected as follows:
	2001	P3 plots on main island collected
	2002	One-half of P2 plots on main island collected
	2003	One-half of P2 plots on main island collected
	2004	P2 and P3 plots on Vieques and Culebra islands collected
	The nominal date of the data will be reported as 2003

***US Virgin Island P2/P3 plots were all collected in 2004.

No FIA data collection in PR or VI in 2005.

The same collection pattern is scheduled to take place in PR/VI beginning with P3 plots on main island in 2006.
