Notes Regarding Louisiana 7th Survey Data, 2005:

1. Plots were collected between 2000 and 2005.

2. When comparing volumes from the 1991 survey with the 2005 survey, it should be noted that tree volume equations were used for the 2005 survey versus the 1991 deterministic procedure (use of a Relaskop to determine tree taper). To help in comparison, the 1991 data was reprocessed using the 2005 volume equations. A set of tables by d.b.h. class are provided below.

3. Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) field crews identified data collection irregularities and corrected as many of the problems as was possible. Assessments of statewide and survey resource statistics did not indicate any apparent anomalies due to uncorrected problems. Users are cautioned when stratifying down to small subsets of variables.

Notes regarding revised 1991 tree volume:                
                       
The following tables demonstrate the difference between the original publication of data under the periodic inventory where tree volume was computed based on a field measurements as compared to the revised tree volume recomputed using the same tree volume equations for the annualized inventory.  It is recommended that the revised volumes be used when making comparisons with the Louisiana 2005 data.  Additional volume tables will be added as they are developed.
