State Inventory Data Status

Tennessee

Below are tables and inventory information summaries for current and previous FIA surveys and analytical reports. Tables are provided for each report year and can be downloaded as a pdf file (requires Adobe reader) or as Excel spreadsheets. Currently, the tables differ among report years. Beginning with the 2006 report year, a standard set will be produced to assist in trend analysis. Definitions for terms used in the reports and tables are provided in the SRS-FIA Standard Glossary. Electronic copies of the reports are available at www.srs.fs.fed.us/pubs/ or hardcopies can be obtained by phoning SRS Science Delivery Group (801-828-4832) or sending an email to pubrequest@fs.fed.us. Although changes are generally minimal, tables are sometimes updated periodically due to minor corrections made to the raw data when errors are found. In addition, this site is currently being developed and information not available now will be in the near future.

Annual Inventory- Moving Average Tables

Each year 20 percent of all FIA plots are measured in Tennessee. Spatially distributed across the state, the most recent plots collected are added to the previous four years of plots to represent a full compliment of data averaged over five years. The moving average allows some assessment of the small change occurring annually. Some estimates may not match previously published tables and/or reports. Past estimates have been updated to reflect current definitions. When comparing current estimates to the past, users should make use of the updated estimates in order to ensure the most appropriate comparison is being made.
